I like the setting you have going on here. The bits of detail, like the wigs, and the media attention regarding the wigs, all serves to give credibility to the world you're creating. Also, you've got a futuristic dystopia going on, which is great. You can never go wrong with a futuristic dystopia in my opinions. Great beginning to what will surely be a captivating story.
