It is definitely an interesting setting, and I will look forward to know more about Alia and her world (as well as what the hell the Breakdown was! :) ).
Because I was not familiar with the ins and outs, it was an unusual experience to ~feel the picture build up through her flashbacks to her life and thoughts of her surroundings: I love how you constructed them, and how we usually all but ignore those little tidbits when the story is set in a known historical period.
