This sounds like a wonderful trip. I really envy you all!
Our daughter didn't get to be an outdoorsy person until around her senior year of high school. So, while we went car camping in the Sierras every summer, we never did any National Park touring with the kids other than Crater Lake, Yosemite, and Lassen. I would have loved to have been able to go to the Grand Canyon, the Utah Rock Parts, and Glacier National Park, but NOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooo. :(
