Yay for a relaxing vacation away from all the usual demands on your life. (hugs) Your sense of relief is palpable here.
A family split in half... I experienced that a few years back as the one who stayed at home, while the rest of them galavanted off to New York to watch the eldest daughter march in the Thanksgiving day parade for band. It was partially dog care, partially some stupid thing for work I had to do, and partially expense, but sort've similar to you, the end result for me was kind of peaceful. LOL
Whenever I read about people snorkeling, I think back to a article I read recently talking about how many of the coral reefs are turning white and dying because of the increased heat of the ambient water temperature. I'm glad there's still abundant under water life you can enjoy in the Keys.
